This Carrera RS is - for us - pretty special: underneath the Tangerine paint it is hidden our beloved "gulf blue" RS, the car this website is dedicated to. It is a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 produced in June 1973 with Touring specs, Tangerine (2323) with black leatherette interior and black-white pied-de-poule seats. The car has the following options: sport seats (409), head restraints (258), sunroof (650), 3 points seat belts (549), antenna with loudspeaker (440), halogen fog-lights (420).

After being sold in July '73 by Porsche dealer in Frankfurt, the car had different owners and probably it was used for racing because it had the wide body as Carrera RS 3000 or Turbo models.

In 1987 the car was imported in Italy then purchased by us in 1988 as a restoration project. During the '90s the car was fully restored and prepared for historic racing according to lightwight specifications before as Group 3, then as Group 4. It was quite common to use original RSs for racing because it remained a performing GT, at the beginning in modern cars races, the among the historic ones. Despite the original color, we preferred a more sporty "gulf blue": the car was used in different events and hillclimb races (beside you can find an onboard camera of the Bologna-San Luca).

The engine was carefully prepared (keeping the capacity at 2.7 and not improving to 2.8 as many mechanics use to do...) and, tested on the dyno, had 235 hp with racing exhaust and air intake without the filter. With the old racing specs and thanks to many original lightweight parts, the car weighted 940 kgs!

With this RS raced two historic hillclimbs Mario Casoni, famous Italian racing driver of the '60s and '70s with Ferrari, Porsche, Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Bizzarrini.

After being sold in 2013 to the current owner, the car was newly restored and brought back to the original specifications by Carrozzeria Serattini of bologna (the same workshop who cared of the first restoration) while the interior had been refurbished by Tappezzeria Ferraresi. The mechanics was still in very good shape so it has just been checked and serviced. The car still preserves some details of its part life as a lightweight, as the Fuchs spare wheel or the thinner lightweight glasses. Into the front trunk there is a set of luggages by Ferraresi, made of the same pied-de-poule cloth of the seats.

The car is sold with Certificate of Authenticity Porsche and a complete documentation of our past property, since 1988.

The car is in Paris and comes with Italian export documents (it was never registered in Italy): it could be seen by appointment.
